A journey rooted in service, compassion and responsibility

For me, medicine has never been just a profession — it has always been a responsibility towards humanity. With nearly four decades of medical experience, including over 20 years in neurology, I worked closely with patients suffering from neurological disorders, trauma, paralysis, strokes and age-related degeneration. Repeatedly, I witnessed the fragility of life — especially in road traffic accidents and medical emergencies.
The Golden Hour Realisation
Countless accident victims reached hospitals too late — not because help was unavailable, but because basic first aid and timely intervention were missing. Precious minutes of the "Golden Hour" were lost, and patients who could have survived suffered irreversible damage or death. I felt strongly that medical care should not begin only inside hospitals — it must begin at the site of the incident, in the hands of ordinary citizens who are trained, aware, and confident to act.
Birth of Jeevan Raksha (1999)
Motivated by these experiences, I founded Jeevan Raksha Medical Rescue & Resuscitation Training Institute with a simple belief: "Life Saved, Family Saved." Through Jeevan Raksha, more than 3,00,000 individuals have been trained across 6,500+ workshops, reaching police forces, commandos, pilots, air hostesses, teachers, students, corporates and government departments, in collaboration with the Indian Red Cross Society.
From Saving Lives to Preserving Dignity
As years passed, I saw seniors living alone due to nuclear families, chronically ill elders struggling without adequate care, and terminally ill patients spending their final days in pain, isolation or neglect. This realization led to the establishment of Jeevan Suraksha Charitable Society in 2010 — an institution dedicated to care with dignity and service with compassion.
Through our Geriatric Hospice & Palliative Care Centre in Nagpur, we have cared for more than 1,500 elderly and terminally ill individuals, including patients up to 103 years of age — always focused on relief from pain and suffering, emotional comfort, respect for dignity, and peaceful, compassionate end-of-life care.
Looking Ahead
As India's elderly population continues to grow, our upcoming expansion — the Central India Institute of Geriatric Hospice & Palliative Rehab (CIIGHPR) — is a continuation of this journey, reflecting our commitment to serve more seniors, strengthen rehabilitation and palliative services, train caregivers, and build a community-driven model of eldercare.
“From emergency lifesaving in the Golden Hour to ensuring dignity in the final years of life, my journey has been guided by one unwavering principle: care must always come with compassion, dignity, and responsibility.”
